CBC News Network

One of Canada's most experienced and versatile journalists, MacNeil gets to the heart of the story whether she's reporting from the field or interviewing a cabinet minister from her host's chair. Gemini-nominated for her extensive broadcast journalism, MacNeil has reported from the U.S., Europe and Afghanistan and has sat down with some of the world's most fascinating people: Bishop Desmond Tutu, Colin Powell, Madeleine Albright and Benazir Bhutto. At home in Canada, she has interviewed the last three Canadian prime ministers: Stephen Harper, Paul Martin and Jean Chretien.

Most recently, MacNeil hosted CBC News: Sunday and CBC News: Sunday Night. Prior to September 2002, MacNeil hosted the Toronto edition of Canada Now. She has hosted numerous live specials for CBC News: Sunday and for CBC Television. She was anchor of the Windsor evening news from 1994-1998.
