Join the Weizmann Women and Science committee for an inspiring event
that will benefit outstanding female scientists.

Funds raised at this event will support the
Israel National Postdoctoral Award Program
for Advancing Women in Science

In 2007, the Weizmann Institute established a fellowship program open to outstanding female PhD graduates from all Israeli institutions of higher learning. The program was created to help close the gender gap at the higher levels of academia and to help with costs associated with postdoctoral training abroad.

WHY IS THIS AN
IMPORTANT INITIATIVE?

The Weizmann Institute of Science views an increase in the number of female faculty members at all levels, from young researchers to tenured scientists, as an urgent priority. Programs such as these will help encourage more women to pursue their postdoctoral research abroad, a vital step in the career of Israeli scientists.

HOW CAN THIS
PROGRAM HELP?

Participants receive $40,000 over a period of 2 years to supplement their postdoctoral salaries from host institutions. Funds will help cover relocation expenses and lack of family support associated with moving abroad.
